This is a great way to become addicted to exercise. It's fun and adds variety to something that might otherwise be mundane
-- awesome
My husband and I have resisted video games for 11 years and our Christmas gifts have been decidedly low-tech: books, legos etc.

This year, we took the plunge and decided to get a Wii Console and Wii Fit board because of the idea that this was a more active form of play and more "interactive" video game than many of the others.

In terms of the Wii Fit board, they try to mask this as a fitness thing and have you go through all these pseudo-fit things like humiliating you by displaying your BMI, weight, "Wii Age" on a 60-inch high def for your family to see (are they TRYING to cause DIVORCES?)

But once you get past that, they have some really fun stuff for the whole family -- we spent the most time laughing as the kids dodged Panda Bears and soccer shoes or re-enacting the "Agony of Defeat" ski scene from the Wide World of Sports. And while they were doing that, they were actually using their whole body and not just getting carpal tunnel syndrome from your standard video game.

The balance board that has been added is very helpful in developing coordination. I wasn't impressed at how challenging the exercises are but if you are consistent, you will make progress.

Are the games on this going to be as effective as a personal trainer at a gym? Probably not (but overall -- a heck of a lot chepaer). However, if you are consistent with it, you will see some improvement in overall body tone and conditioning and that is never a bad thing. I think the true value comes from making "fitness" into a game where the whole family can participate. Much more interactive than any other video games, these activities will provide the whole family some active fun for the kids while watching some really hysterical graphics (ok, our family is easily amused), I think this has been my favorite part of the Wii experience so far...

While there are some Wii games that use the whole body (Wii Fit and Outdoor Adventure), many are still more traditional "sit on your couch" type of video games. That is why this bundle is a must -- if you want to be able to take advantage of the full-body interactive games which are the Wii's trademark, then the bundle is a must have.

My kids (ages 9 and 11) favorite is "Active Life Outdoor Challenge" because it uses the entire body and not just the controllers. However, though my son and husband both love the Mario Kart even though that is more of a "traditional controller-type" game, I do have to admit.

I highly recommend this bundle for the whole family.

[NCJAR] -- Great combination -- the FIT games are what makes the Wii special
This was ordered for my grandchildren. So I have not had the chance to play with it yet but, IM impressed with the speed in which it was delivered. Four days with standard shipping. Stay tune for the product review. -- Grandpa
I love my Wii! I only use it with the Wii Fit, but I am allowed to exercise in the comfort of my own home and it's wonderful. I have noticed some improvement in my size and energy level. -- Wii and Wii Fit a winning combination
